About 20 Blue Jays Way — The Element
The Element Condos are anything but understated: the building is a powerful presence on the corner of Front Street West and Blue Jays Way. The rounded façade is speckled with glass balconies, as are the other sides of the structure, hinting at the lavish lifestyles enjoyed by residents at 20 Blue Jays Way.
While private outdoor spaces are abundant, those living closer to the top of this 25-storey downtown Toronto condo are clearly granted the greatest views from their balconies. And with the 352 units in total, suites on any floor of the building have a good chance of appearing on the market every now and then.
Completed in 2007, this property is a classic example of Toronto’s ever-popular glass and steel high-rise residences. The building is unique in one way, however: its devotion to the environment. This eco-friendly residence even uses water from Lake Ontario to heat and cool the building.
With a lobby covering two floors of the building, one might expect this to be it for common space. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, though, as the building also contains a games room with cards and billiards tables, a gym, hot tub, sauna, and pool, as well as a party room and cinema.
And as if those amenities weren’t enough, the architects were clever enough to know how much Torontonians love spending time outdoors when they can. As a result, the building boasts a rooftop terrace for gathering in groups or relaxing in solitude. Plus, the Element Condos features guest suites, a concierge, and visitor parking, so that residents can let friends and family experience how well they are living.
The Suites
With over a decade of occupancy behind them, the homes at 20 Blue Jays Way have had plenty of time to receive an upgrade or two from previous owners. As a result, these King West condos vary in terms of aesthetics, amenities, and appliances. Hardwood flooring and open concept layouts are common nonetheless.
The suites range quite drastically in size, beginning at around 500 and reaching to approximately 2,600 square feet. With one, two, or three bedrooms each, these homes can satisfy all types of buyers.
Hardwood flooring, open concept floor plans, and plenty of natural sunlight provide both elegance and spaciousness to these homes, while the overall vibe is upscale, fresh, and contemporary.
The Neighbourhood
In terms of location, you'd be hard pressed to find Toronto condos for sale with a better spot than 20 Blue Jays Way. Living in the heart of the Entertainment District certainly has its perks, while the building’s close proximity to Lake Ontario doesn’t hurt either.
Residents are equidistant to the TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Rogers Centre, the CN Tower, and Roy Thompson Hall — just to name a few important venues. Various parks can be found in the area as well, including Clarence Square, HTO West, and the Spadina Quay Wetlands.
For foodies, it’s a great thing Spadina Avenue and King Street are within close reach. King is home to some of the most posh and exclusive eateries in the city, while a short trip up Spadina will land residents amidst eclectic home cooking in the Chinatown neighbourhood.
Those who love to cook are equally fortuitous, thanks to the Metro on Wellington Street West, which is just 500 metres from the Element Condos. Alternatively, residents can head over to King and Spadina to hit two birds with one stone: an LCBO is located directly across the street from the Fresh & Wild Food Market.
Transportation
From 20 Blue Jays Way, Union Station can be reached in about 12 minutes on foot, or around 10 minutes via the Front Street streetcar. From here, residents have many options for travelling about the city—and beyond.
Even residents without cars can reach any pocket of the city by way of the TTC’s network of subway trains, streetcars, and buses. Northbound trains on the Yonge-University-Spadina line can be accessed via Union Station. Alternatively, those exiting the city can visit Union Station in order to catch VIA Rail trains, GO trains and buses, and the UP service to Pearson International Airport.
Those who prefer to drive can make use of Spadina Avenue to reach the Gardiner Expressway. This fast-paced highway is a great way to zoom along the southern edge of the city, and from here one can transfer onto the 427 or the Don Valley Parkway with ease.
