About 219 Fort York BoulevardAquarius at Waterpark City

Aquarius at Waterpark City is a tried and true building for any Torontonian looking to live close to Lake Ontario. The edifice is classic, understated, and robust, and has been occupied by satisfied residents since 2006.

Considering the sizeable team behind the design and construction of 219 Fort York Boulevard, it’s no wonder the building has been such a success. H&R Developments, Lanterra Developments, and Lifetime Developments made up the team of developers, while Page + Steele/IBI Group worked on the structure’s architectural design.

Built in 2006, Aquarius at Waterpark City was the first phase of a complex that consists of two towers. The other, Atlantis at Waterpark City, followed a year later. Aquarius alone is home to 490 Fort York condos, which are spread out over 38 storeys. A 7-storey podium makes up the base of the complex, with the 219 Fort York tower rising another 31 storeys — 9 floors more than its sister building next door.

The selling point for many residents isn’t the size of the building at 219 Fort York, but rather the lineup of amenities spread found inside. To start, residents can rest easy knowing there’s a 24-hour concierge and security staff onsite, constantly ensuring everything is running smoothly. On a slightly more exciting note, the building is home to 38,000 square feet of amenities space collectively known as Club Oasis.

In Club Oasis, residents can work out or relax in the indoor swimming pool, before hitting the hot tub, sauna, or a massage room. There’s also plenty of opportunity to exercise without getting one’s hair wet—from the weight room to aerobics facilities, a spinning room, yoga room, and cardio area, residents have their pick.

Homeowners living at 219 Fort York can also enjoy the theatre, billiards room, and party room, or get serious in the building’s board room. Not only is there a rooftop terrace with barbecues and a garden, but visitors enjoying any of these spaces can even stay overnight in one of the guest suites.

    The Suites

With units ranging in size from around 400 to approximately 1,400 square feet, prospective buyers of all sorts can find what they’re looking for at 219 Fort York. Single professionals and sizeable families alike all come together to inhabit the nearly 500 units found throughout the building.

The building is divided into one and two bedroom suites, all of which were outfitted by the interior design team at Munge Leunge. The open concept homes boast floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive balconies, providing residents with both bright, airy interiors and striking views of the city or Lake Ontario below, and at a price point that's below many Toronto condos for sale in neighbouring areas.

Finishes include pre-engineered hardwood floors, as well as contemporary kitchens and bathrooms. And those with stressful jobs will love being able to relax in the spacious bathtubs at the end of a long day.

    The Neighbourhood

Residents living at 219 Fort York have access to it all: grassy parks, balmy waters, chic restaurants and shops, and even a fast-paced highway. Outdoorsy types will especially love the location, since the building is sandwiched in between two sizeable parks, Garrison Common and Coronation Park. The Martin Goodman Trail — a 56 kilometre cycling and pedestrian path — also happens to run directly through the latter, along the shore of Lake Ontario.

Lakeside activities are also aplenty in the area. Ontario Place is just a short walk away, where residents can watch films at the Cinesphere —the first permanent IMAX theatre in the world — or catch concerts at Budweiser Stage. Foodies can head over to the Fashion District or Liberty Village, which are both home to some of the city’s trendiest destinations for dining out.

Just down the street at 190 Fort York is the recently erected Fort York Library — an ideal place for getting some reading done or entertaining kids on a rainy day. And running errands is a breeze for residents of 219 Fort York, thanks to the Metro and Bulk Barn in Liberty Village, which takes about 20 minutes to reach on foot.

    Transportation

Traveling to any area of the city is simple when living at 219 Fort York. Residents can use the Harbourfront Streetcar to reach Union Station in around 20 minutes, while a bus running north and south along Bathurst Street carries passengers to Bathurst Station on the Bloor-Danforth line in the same amount of time.

Drivers are even better situated, thanks to the building’s close proximity to the Gardiner Expressway. From this highway, car owners can reach the 427 to the west or the Don Valley Parkway to the east.
