About 220 Victoria StreetOpus at Pantages

Part of Intracorp’s illustrious Pantages development, between Dundas Street East and Shuter Street in the Church Street Corridor, the Opus Condos at 220 Victoria Street attracts many prospective buyers — and rightfully so. Completed in 2005, the Opus at Pantages Condos are well-located and well-built.

On a quiet side-street in the downtown core, the designers, Core Architects, opted for elegance rather than opulence when creating this 22-storey structure. As such, the Opus at Pantages’ impression isn’t striking, but rather it’s graceful. This elegance begins with 220 Victoria Street's podium, featuring a smooth concrete base accented by artfully arranged, elongated window panes. This concrete section sits beside a vast glass window wall, which bridges the podium and the condo’s tower with style.

The clean, modern aesthetic proves as practical as it is sophisticated: featuring an array of long, deep balconies throughout, whose bright modular bases are adorned with gleaming glass walls.

Matching the refined exterior design, 220 Victoria Street contains a curated collection of amenities. At street level, the entrance welcomes residents with an understated awning, leading into a chic lobby catered to by a 24-hour concierge service.

Conversely, the common area sits on its top level. This consists of a party room connected to a kitchenette, a billiards room, a wet bar, and even an exclusive cinema. And finally, this upper-level amenities area extends out onto a rooftop terrace, where residents can enjoy outstanding views of the city.

    The Suites

There are 150 downtown Toronto condos in the building, resulting in a vibrant community of residents. This includes one and two bedroom Toronto condos for sale, some of which also boast dens. Although they range in size from around 500 to 1150 square feet, every home has been laid out with an equal amount of care. Additionally, many residents even have access to spacious private balconies.

Moreover, 220 Victoria Street's interiors feel warm and welcoming — thanks to their timeless interior decor. Additionally, the suites boast an abundance of natural light light flowing in through their floor-to-ceiling windows — which can’t help but make all that hardwood flooring look especially attractive.

    The Neighbourhood

There’s so much to do and see in the City Centre neighbourhood. Popular Yonge Street is just to the west, with eclectic Church Street to the east. However, for those living at 220 Victoria Street, their own street is also an exciting, urban locale of its own.

Thanks to its location next door to the distinguished Ed Mirvish Theatre, Victoria Street can get quite crowded during peak performance seasons. Although, as expected of this type of venue, these crowds are more refined than most.

Alternatively, at the north end of Victoria the street opens up to Yonge-Dundas Square, home to many free public festivals and shows. When residents want some revelry they only need to take a short walk around the corner.

Additionally, heading further north up Victoria leads to the campus of Toronto Metropolitan University. Not just for students to enjoy, Victoria street leads toward the Ryerson Community Park, a vibrant space that becomes one of the more unique skating rinks in the city during the winter.

Finally, on the east side of the Community Park there’s the Ryerson Image Centre. In addition to hosting a full schedule of free public talks and exhibitions, the Image Centre is home to a Balzac’s Café and its delectable treats.

    Transportation

Situated in a neighbourhood filled with shopping, eating and cultural attractions, which so many visitors from throughout the city adore, residents are well-served by public transit. From Yong-Dundas Square there are stairs leading into the TTC’s Dundas Station, on the north-south running Yonge-University Spadina subway line, while the 505 Streetcar can be accessed at street level. The 505 works well for those travelling within the downtown core, as it heads east to Broadview Station in the Danforth and west to Dundas West near The Junction - West End neighbourhood.

Alternatively, the building is positioned well for those who prefer to drive. Drivers can avoid the busier streets like Yonge by taking Church or Jarvis, the next two major streets east of 220 Victoria Street. Many seasoned city drivers are well-acquainted with Jarvis: it leads south directly to the Gardiner Expressway shortly after it becomes Lower Jarvis — often taking just ten minutes to reach from the Opus at Pantages.
