About 2495 Dundas Street W — Glen Lake Condos
There’s nothing outlandish about the mid-rise condo at 2495 Dundas Street West, but naturally, that’s part of the allure. While wacky new condos pop up left right and centre in The Junction - West End nearby, there’s something timeless about the traditional red brick façade of Glen Lake., and that's perfectly suited to High Park North.
Although the building looks like it could have been built yesterday, ten years ago, or even twenty or thirty, it was in fact constructed just after the new millennium. Completed in 2005 by the Georgian Group, 2495 Dundas West contains 126 units spread out over 7 storeys.
Prospective residents who have high expectations in terms of amenities have come to the right place. Glen Lake is equipped with a party room, billiards room, gym, underground parking with visitor spots, and a terrace with barbecues. And best of all, there’s a concierge and a security guard to ensure everything runs smoothly at 2495 Dundas West.
The Suites
Toronto condos for sale at 2495 Dundas St W range from one bedroom suites to condos with two bedrooms plus dens. The smallest units start at approximately 500 square feet, with homes that cover nearly 1,100 square feet available to those who need the additional space.
Large, bright windows feature throughout the building, contributing to the warm atmosphere at 2495 Dundas West. The Neighbourhood
Technically situated in High Park North, 2495 Dundas St W also may as well be considered part of the Junction. The former neighbourhood takes its name from Toronto’s beloved 400-acre green space, High Park. Residents can walk to the park in just 15 minutes, and once there they have a long list of activities to choose from. There’s ice skating in winter, swimming in summer, visiting animals at the zoo, or watching a performance of Shakespeare in the Park, to name a few.
Bloor Street West makes up the northernmost border of High Park. Home to restaurants, shops, cafés, and other commercial businesses, Bloor often feels worlds away from the tranquillity of High Park.
Slightly northwest of 2495 Dundas West is the Junction, a hip neighbourhood with an interesting history. Oddly enough, the Junction upheld prohibition laws until as late as 1998. Once the outdated law disappeared, however, the neighbourhood quickly came to life with bars, restaurants, and concert venues — and it has been thriving ever since.
Transportation
Those familiar with Toronto’s public transportation options will already know what it means to live so close to Bloor Street. Residents can walk to Dundas West Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line in just 5 minutes, and once there they can hop onto trains heading east and west.
The Bloor GO/UP Station is also just around the corner, allowing residents living at 2495 Dundas St W to reach Pearson International Airport in just over 20 minutes. Those heading in the opposite direction can also use the UP Express or GO Transit to reach Union Station in 15 minutes.
As for drivers, a southbound trip down Parkside Drive will land cars at Lake Shore Boulevard, from which they can head east or west in order to connect onto the Gardiner Expressway.
