About 25 Viking Lane — Nuvo At Essex II Condos
Tridel is no small player when it comes to building condos, nor is it new to the game: the Toronto-based developer created its first home in 1934, and its first multi-residential building in 1961. While the same team that worked on these early developments may not have been around to see the Nuvo At Essex II Condos, this 2008-built condo at 25 Viking Lane embraces Tridel’s longstanding values of community and connectivity. As the name suggest, this building followed the completion of Nuvo at Essex I Condos.
The high-rise tower at 25 Viking Lane reaches to 30 storeys and contains 334 Toronto condos. A concierge is stationed in the building’s two-storey lobby 24 hours a day, greeting guests, accepting packages, and assisting residents with whatever they may need.
A concierge isn’t the only amenity offered to those living at 25 Viking Lane. Residents also have access to a party room, theatre, and barbecues, plus a gym, indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. Friends and family are also made to feel welcome thanks to features like guest suites and visitor parking.
The Suites
Toronto condos for sale at 25 Viking Lane appeal to all sorts of prospective residents, from single professionals to parents. Suites contain anything from one bedroom to three bedrooms plus a den, and range from approximately 550 to 1,800 square feet. Regardless of actual square footage, all of the homes within 25 Viking Lane feel bright and airy thanks to large windows, and in some cases, private balconies.
The Neighbourhood
Islington & City Centre West is a great alternative to those who feel overwhelmed when thinking about the jam-packed streets in Toronto’s downtown core. Still a central business district, and therefore still a bustling neighbourhood, this Etobicoke spot also happens to be slightly less dense.
Along Dundas Street West, locals can find restaurants ranging from eclectic, independent joints to popular fast food chains. Dundas is also a destination unto itself: dozens of murals are spread out on the sides of buildings in between Kipling and Islington, together painting a comprehensive picture of the area’s history. Other outdoor diversions in the neighbouhood include Echo Valley Park, a charming green space with the Mimico Creek running through it, Wedgewood Park Outdoor Pool, and the Islington Golf Club.
Residents of 25 Viking Lane looking to run some errands can visit a local one-stop shop: Six Points Plaza. The plaza contains stores like Valley Farm Produce, Shoppers Drug Mart and Bulk Barn, and happens to be situated just on the other side of Dundas from the Nuvo at Essex II. Best of all, IKEA and Costco take 5 and 10 minutes to reach by car, respectively.
Transportation
Living at 25 Viking Lane is convenient for residents who work in Islington and City Centre West, as well as for those who commute to downtown Toronto. Even those who choose to forgo driving can walk to Kipling Station in just 4 minutes, from which they can catch GO and TTC trains heading toward the downtown core.
As for those who prefer to drive, it’s certainly useful having both the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway so close at hand. The former can be used to reach the 401 as well as Pearson International Airport, while the latter provides access to neighbourhoods all across the southern edge of the city.
