There’s nothing unique about a soaring tower in Toronto anymore, and that’s precisely what draws some condo seekers to the Yorkland at Herons Hill Condos: constructed in 2014 by the Monarch Group, the architecture of 275 Yorkland Road is both understated and unpretentious.
The 33-storey tower at 275 Yorkland contains a grand total of 402 North York condos, as well as a long list of amenities that might not be expected of such a modest building. Residents have access to Club Yorkland, with its party room (complete with bar, lounge area, and terrace), two guest suites, movie theatre, and gym with cardio and yoga areas plus his and hers saunas.
While slightly less exciting, the building also features more functional bonuses including underground parking with visitor spots and a car wash station, and a 24-hour concierge. What’s more, Reflections at Heron’s Hills is located just outside the building. This amenities spaces is shared amongst residents living in neighbouring buildings, such as Ultra at Herons Hill Condos, and contains an indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, and a rooftop terrace with barbecues.
The Suites
Between the studio, one bedroom, one bedroom plus den, and two bedroom homes found throughout 275 Yorkland Rd, all sorts of prospective residents can find what they’re looking for here; the building is well suitesd to those looking for a long term home or even those seeking condos for rent in North York. Suites start at around 400 square feet and reach to approximately 1,050 at their largest, some featuring balconies that wrap around a corner of the building.
Just like the building’s façade, the interiors at Yorkland at Herons Hill are simple yet bright. While kitchens are generally open concept, dens are separated by French doors, allowing for privacy when need be.
Speaking of kitchens, home chefs interested in 275 Yorkland Rd will be glad to hear that each of these spaces contains granite countertops, ceramic tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances, and a pantry and/or breakfast bar. Other features and finishes found throughout the building include laminate flooring, low-emission windows, and cultured marble and ceramic tile flooring in bathrooms, as well as 8-foot ceilings in regular suites and 9-foot ceilings in penthouse units.
The Neighbourhood
The name Henry Farm is a little misleading nowadays, considering just how built up this North York neighbourhood has become. That said, the development of Henry Farm happened rather recently, with its namesake farm only having been sold to developers in 1958.
As urban as it is today, North York is still a charming, tight-knit community, especially thanks to the Henry Farm Community Interest Association. This group publishes a neighbourhood newsletter, oversees a neighbourhood watch program, promotes positive change for the neighbourhood, and plans annual community events.
A number of attractions are also within walking distance of 275 Yorkland Rd, including the Parkway Forest Community Centre and Parkway Forest Outdoor Pool. And when it comes time to shop, residents can head over to Fairview Mall, which takes just 8 minutes to reach on foot.
Transportation
Not all North York residents have it as good as those living in Yorkland at Herons Hill: rather than having to walk or take the bus, this condo provides a complimentary shuttle service to Don Mills subway station on weekdays during peak hours. From this station, passengers can head west along the Sheppard line in order to connect onto southbound trains travelling down the Yonge line.
As for residents with cars, it doesn’t hurt to have both the Don Valley Parkway and the 401 so close at hand. The former can be used to ride south toward the downtown core, while the latter is ideal for anyone heading east or west toward Scarborough or Mississauga, respectively.
