About 311 Richmond Street E — 311 Imperial Square
Now renowned for developing top-quality residences with lasting value, the Plaza Corporation initially helped to solidify their reputation by creating buildings like 330 @ Imperial Square and the 311 Imperial Square. Built in 2001, these condos at 311 Richmond Street East, at the intersection of Richmond and Sherbourne, have since become an attractive fixture of the St. Lawrence neighbourhood.
Standing at 11 storeys high, the 311 at Imperial Square is clad with charming brickwork. Dark red tones frame sets of wide windows that stretch vertically along nearly the entire building. These windows also happen to be placed beside grand series of private balconies, with curved glass walls whose blue tint beautifully catches the sunlight.
Inside, the building offers its residents a useful selection of amenities. This includes a well-equipped exercise room, a welcoming party room for entertaining guests, and a versatile recreation room. But perhaps the 311 Imperial Square Condos best amenity is technically found outside the building itself. On the rooftop, residents can enjoy access to a carefully landscaped terrace that’s both equipped for barbecuing and taking in the captivated views of the city. It's a good thing the condo contains ample visitor parking — residents can host some outstanding summer parties here.
The Suites
The boutique building houses just 90 downtown Toronto condos, which are well suited for young professionals and couples. Toronto condos for sale throughout the building vary considerably, including studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans, and ranging in size from approximately 400 to 1,000 square feet. Regardless of their specific size, though, 311 Richmond East’s suites all feel quite comfortable, courtesy of their open concept living spaces, many of which extend out onto cozy private balconies.
Even those living in units without outdoor spaces can bask in the warm sunshine (when the weather cooperates that is), thanks to the building’s abundance of natural light that flows into the suites through floor-to-ceiling windows. This light, along with the suites’ engineered hardwood flooring, provides the homes with a warm and comforting atmosphere.
The Neighbourhood
Nestled into the northeast corner of the St. Lawrence neighbourhood, the 311 Imperial Square Condos sits at a popular intersection for residential developments. As expected, then, a number of delicious dining experiences can be found in 311 Richmond East’ neighbourhood.
At the west end of their block sits the George Street Diner, a well-established, inexpensive, and proudly local spot where residents can grab some classic Canadian fare. Alternatively, just across the intersection from the 311 Imperial Square Condos, residents can often enjoy perhaps the most classic of Canadian cuisine: Tim Hortons.
And for the residents who are curious about Canada’s top emerging chefs, they should plan ahead and make a reservation at the Chef’s House. A nearby restaurant at the corner of King Street East and Frederick, the Chef’s House is staffed by culinary art and hospitality students from George Brown College, which also inhabits the area.
Finally, for those living in the 311 Imperial Square Condos who may consider themselves chefs — at least when feeding their friends and family — residents easily can grab fresh ingredients from the halls of the historic St. Lawrence Market. Located at Front Street and Jarvis, it’s less than a ten-minute walk, and definitely worth the journey. While tourists may travel from far and wide to visit the market and try a famous peameal sandwich from Carousel Bakery, residents living around the corner can visit during off hours in order to purchase fresh produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, and more.
Transportation
Getting around the city is easy for residents in the building. For one, drivers enjoy how quickly traffic moves on Richmond in the downtown core because of its efficient one-way designation that moves westbound. Alternatively, when drivers need to head east, they only need to head a block south to Adelaide Street, another one-way street in the downtown core. Moreover, Adelaide takes drivers to a northbound access point from which they can merge onto the Don Valley Parkway in less than five minutes.
Last but not least, residents who prefer public transit are well served by the TTC’s 501 Streetcar. This route runs east and west across much of the city, and allows riders to connect to the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line. The 501 streetcar also happens to stop just a block from 311 Richmond, at the corner of Sherbourne and Queen.
