About 342 Spadina Road — The Churchill Condominiums
Just across the street from Winston Churchill Park at Spadina Road and St. Clair Avenue West, sits the Churchill Condominiums at 342 Spadina Road. These luxurious homes offer residents the opportunity to live in one of more serene main intersections in midtown Toronto. While that may sound like an oxymoron, this locale happens to be insulated from the congestion of busier roadways, yet still close to great locations in the Casa Loma and Forest Hill South neighborhoods.
Built in 1986, this low-rise condominium has a vintage façade of tinted glass and stone, and is very reminiscent of some of the more subtle architecture from that decade. The building features a beautiful lobby area covered by a half-dome dome of glass, which looks out on the property’s landscaped grounds.
There are also a number of amenities available to residents, including concierge and security services, a party room, a meeting room, garage parking for guests and visitors, and a games room.
The Suites
The are an exclusive number of suites at the 5 storey Churchill Condominiums. With only 20 (quite sizeable) suites within the building, these homes range from just over 1,200 square feet to nearly 2,500.
As past residents of 342 Spadina Road have had plenty of time to customize their homes by now, many of the Toronto condos for sale that appear on the market have been tastefully redone. This might mean that some have spectacularly renovated master bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, or top of the line appliances in the kitchen. Generally, suites at the Churchill Condominiums come equipped with 1 or 2 bedrooms, 1 to 2.5 bathrooms, and there are variations with dens, offices, or large balconies as well.
Suites are accessed via grand hotel style double-door entryways, where residents enter onto tiled foyers. Beyond these entryways, the rest of the spaces are covered in hardwood. Kitchens have tiled floors, stone counters and backsplashes, plus integrated appliances, that are smartly placed in the center of many suites. Floor-to-ceiling windows brighten up the hallways and living spaces, while all units feature ensuite laundry as well.
The Neighbourhood
Although the section of midtown that 342 Spadina occupies is quiet, there are still a number of great streets for shopping, dining and enjoying the night-life, all just a short walk or TTC ride away. North of the Churchill Condominiums is Forest Hill Village, which boasts elegant boutiques, cafes, gyms, and a small grocery stores for residents to visit. Alternatively, heading east or west along the St. Clair streetcar will land residents at a multitude of great restaurants, shops and bars.
For high-class entertainment nearby, residents could check out a play at the Tarragon Theatre, or visit the Spadina Museum, Casa Loma, or the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada Museum. There's also plenty of green-space for residents to stretch their legs in around the Churchill Condominiums, including Nordheimer Ravine, Suydam Park (which leads to the Cedarvale Ravine and Park and has a hockey rink), and of course Sir Winston Churchill Park just across the street.
A wealth of good schools are also close by, great for families looking to lay down roots in the Churchill Condominiums. Nearby are St Michael’s College, The Brown Public School, Forest Hill Public School, The George Brown Campus, Deer Park, and Upper Canada College. As well, the Toronto Archives Library is just down the street, on Spadina Road.

There are TTC bus stops right outside the building on Spadina, while the St. Clair streetcar makes frequent stops just south of the Churchill Condos.
