With a long history of hosting luminaries, beloved authors, and stars like the Beatles, Ernest Hemingway and Britney Spears, a portion of this landmark hotel has become the King Edward Private Residences, following a change of ownership to King Edward Realty and development by Dundee Kilmer. Built in 1903 by George Gooderham, the building’s French Renaissance-style architecture was originally designed by Henry Ives Cobb and E.J. Lennox. After many different owners, which included a restoration project by Stanford Downey in 1979, 37 King East and 22 Leader Lane’s revitalization into the Omni King Edward Hotel and Private Residences was completed in 2013.
ERA Architects were specially chosen for this project for their expertise in renovations of heritage buildings. In doing so, they modernized these spaces with state-of-the-art hardware and materials, while still preserving the King Edward’s ornate beauty and classical charm.

The Suites

The Neighbourhood
The King Edward Private Residences are condos with an enviable location in the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood. Removed enough from the crowds, residents feel like they’re in an exclusive area, just off serene Victoria Street. Transportation
