On sunny days the glass-clad façade at 58 Marine Parade Drive takes on a blue hue, thanks to its close proximity to Lake Ontario. Part of a complex that also includes Nautilus at Waterview, the Explorer at Waterview Condos consists of 270 Toronto condos spread out over 13 floors.
Constructed in 2007 by Monarch Developments, the building also features an impressive lineup of amenities. In addition to standard communal elements like a fitness centre and party room, 58 Marine Parade Dr also boasts an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna, a meeting room, a movie theatre, and guest suites. And just to make life easier for residents, there’s also a concierge and underground parking with visitor spots.
The Suites
The range in suite size at 58 Marine Parade Dr is impressive to say the least, with homes starting at 375 and reaching to approximately 3,250 square feet. With everything from studios to three bedroom plus den homes in the building, prospective residents of all sorts can find Toronto condos for sale to suit their needs.
Design-wise, the homes within 58 Marine Parade Dr are modern, stylish, sleek, and spacious. Curiously enough, some suites contain more outdoor space than indoor: one unit, for example, spans 800 square feet and contains a 1,200 square foot terrace.
The Neighbourhood
There’s nowhere quite as idyllic in Etobicoke than Mimico, a lakeside neighbourhood nestled between the Humber River and Mimico Creek. The latter meets Lake Ontario just around the corner from 58 Marine Parade Drive, in between Humber Bay Parks East and West. With both of these green spaces close at hand, residents have access to beaches, multiple sailing clubs, and some truly scenic trails.
The immediate area around Explorer at Waterview is known as the Humber Bay Shores, and has been experiencing something of a renaissance in recent years. In addition to new residential buildings, Humber Bay Shores now contains an abundance of businesses as well, including restaurants, cafés, and grocery stores.
Living in Etobicoke also means having access to one thing that the downtown core lacks: big box stores. Costco, IKEA, and Home Depot, for example, all take about 10 minutes to reach by car. When it comes time to update one’s wardrobe, on the other hand, it helps to have Sherway Gardens so close at hand. This enormous mall can be found on the Queensway, just west of the 427, and contains enough stores to warrant spending an entire day indoors.
Transportation
The Gardiner Expressway takes all of a minute or two to reach from 58 Marine Parade Dr. Once on this major highway, residents can drive east toward the downtown core in no time, or they can head west in order to connect onto the 427. Once on the 427, cars can zip up to Pearson International Airport, the entire journey taking approximately 20 minutes.
Residents without cars can walk just 10 minutes to reach the Humber Loop at the Queensway, where the 501 Queen streetcar makes a stop before heading east toward downtown Toronto. Another great option for those who rely on public transit to get around is the 66 Prince Edward bus, which carries passengers up to Old Mill Station in around 15 minutes.
