About 620 King Street W — Kingly Condos
While the name of the Kingly Condos was probably meant to reflect its location on King Street, the building also happens to be quite regal. Thanks to the design by Hariri Pontarini Architects, a modern red brick and glass structure now sits atop an existing heritage building at 501 Adelaide Street West and 620 King Street West.
Completed in 2019 by Allied Properties and RioCan, the Kingly Condos contains 132 units spread out over 15 storeys. Besides the Toronto condos found within the building, residents can also find a gym and sauna, guest suites, a lounge and catering kitchen, and a rooftop terrace with barbecues. Plus, tons of retail space can be found below the residential units, as well as some office spaces.
The Suites
When one thinks about kings and queens, they often conjure up images of gaudy, old-fashioned palaces. Thankfully, the Kingly Condos is quite the opposite: the Toronto condos for sale within are sleek and contemporary. Kitchens boast stainless steel appliances and European-style cabinetry, and window-clad walls allow natural lighting to do its magic on the suites.
The homes vary dramatically in terms of size, with 1 bedroom units starting at around 550 square feet and 3 bedroom suites reaching to approximately 1,300. Some units at the Kingly Condos also come equipped with private outdoor spaces and storage lockers.
The Neighbourhood
Prospective residents hoping to live in a trendy, upscale neighbourhood will feel right at home in King west neighbourhood. King Street, as well as Portland, Wellington, and Adelaide, are home to some of the hardest reservations to get in the city, and the patrons who eat at these establishments are always dressed to impress.
Those who plan to spend as much time as possible outdoors will be glad to hear that there’s plenty of choice when it comes to green space surrounding the Kingly Condos at 501 Adelaide St W & 620 King St W. Victoria Memorial Square is just a short walk away, although King West residents who want to partake in some outdoor activities know to head to Stanley Park, Trinity Bellwoods, or Garrison Common.
When it comes time to stock up on groceries, residents can head to the Kitchen Table at King and Bathurst or Fresh & Wild Food Market at King and Spadina. A sizeable Loblaws is also a short walk away, at the corner of Queen and Portland.
Transportation
The Kingly Condos are conveniently located regardless of how residents prefer to get around, although, like many downtown Toronto condos, the easiest way to travel may just be to leave the car at home.
St. Andrew Station on the University-Spadina line takes 17 minutes to reach by foot or less than 10 via the King streetcar. Those heading north can also walk just a few blocks west to reach Bathurst Street, where they will find stops for streetcars heading both north and south.
Residents who do drive benefit from living so close to the Gardiner Expressway. This major east-west highway can be reached by heading south down Spadina Avenue, and allows drivers to transfer onto the 427 to the west and the Don Valley Parkway to the east.
