    About 71 Simcoe StreetSymphony Place

Located at 71 Simcoe Street in the King West neighbourhood, this 25-storey condominium is home to 87 downtown Toronto condos. The exterior of the building was designed to match St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church which sits next door, giving residents a Victorian-styled lobby to welcome them.

Symphony palace was built in 1991, and as is often the case with older buildings, units here are much larger than those found in new buildings. With a trendy neighbourhood like King West, this property is ideal for first-time home buyers and young professionals. Given the size of condos in this building, there is also some appeal for empty nesters who are moving on from a detached home.

Building amenities include: gym, sauna, party room, meeting room, concierge, security guard and parking garage. There are buildings in the area which offer more in the way of amenities, but very few which can boast such expansive suite sizes.

    The Suites

King West condos for sale at Symphony Place have great value and are on the lower end of price per square foot. Units are available in 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom + den, 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom + den — suite sizes range from 797 to 3250 square feet.

Many of the suites in this building have some personalization over the years, but you can expect to find hardwood floors, updated kitchens, large bedrooms, and expansive balconies with incredible city views. Some units feature multiple balconies, and even exposed concrete ceilings and walls, plus other industrial touches.

With a condo at Symphony Place you have an exciting neighbourhood to call home, just minutes from the Entertainment District and Toronto’s best attractions; with Roy Thomson Hall across the street, you have an incredible venue for concerts on your doorstep.

    The Neighbourhood

King West is fast-becoming one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Toronto — with its convenient location and exciting pace, it’s no surprise that this area is the sight of many new developments. In 71 Simcoe you have a building with history, one with a prime location that can’t be beat and immediate access to TTC service. So, there are a lot of reasons to consider this condominium over newer developments.

From your spacious home at 71 Simcoe you have great options for dining out in the area; there’s IL FORNELLO on King for a wood-fired pizza, Penelope Restaurant for Greek, Luma for upscale Canadian cuisine, and Forget About It Supper Club for a relaxed Italian meal. There are also plenty of fast-food chains around the corner at the Toronto Dominion Centre, and there’s Starbucks, Tim Hortons, and Canadian Music Café nearby for morning coffee.

For a night out on the town, you have King Street pubs like Roxy on King, Bar Hop, and Fynn's of Temple Bar. To the south, there’s the Entertainment District for live music, packed dance floors, and charming brewpubs. Sports fanatics can walk to the Rogers Centre and Scotiabank Arena, making it easy to catch as many home games as possible. Music fans have Roy Thomson across the street, and several theatres in the area for concerts and shows.

When the time comes for a grocery run you can head to The Market by Longo's at First Canadian Place or McEwan on Wellington Street. If you need some fresh air and the balcony isn’t cutting it, there’s David Pecaut Square to the west, Simcoe Park to the south-west, and if you really need a long walk, you can head to The Waterfront for the Martin Goodman Trail.

    Transportation

71 Simcoe Street has a walk score of 100, making this a perfect location for those who like to get things done on foot. For longer journeys, there are streetcars on King and Wellington, and St. Andrew Station is just minutes away for the Yonge-University subway line.

Drivers have a short trip to the Gardiner expressway via the Lower Simcoe on-ramp, and from there can connect to the Lakeshore Boulevard and the Don Valley Parkway.
