About 800 Spadina Road — St Regis
The St. Regis Condos stand as a landmark to the prestige of Forest Hill South neighbourhood, standing at a prominent corner of Spadina Road and Eglinton West. Detailed and expertly executed best characterize this building at 800 Spadina Road. Nothing less was expected from its developer, the Shane Baghai Group, which gained prestige by building lavish luxury homes such as One Watergarden Way Condos, especially in the 1990’s when they delved into the high-end condo market.
Completed in 1999, the St. Regis Condos stand at 7 storeys tall. Although short in stature, the building makes a grand impression courtesy of its creative, asymmetrical design. Bending along with the curve of Spadina Road, the building’s design culminates in a vertical series of circular bay windows facing south towards the Downtown Core.
The building certainly catches the eye: 8 Spadina Road showcases expansive windows scattered throughout its meticulously carved concrete. This gives this modern building’s architecture a rich texture, reminiscent of a more classical aesthetic.
Inside, residents enjoy a carefully curated collection of amenities. They can work out in 800 Spadina Road’s fully equipped fitness facilities, and when they want to relax outside or entertain friends and family, there’s a rooftop terrace adorning the building’s south-facing volume. This outdoor space is even barbecue ready, plus it boasts spectacular views of the city’s skyscrapers in the horizon.
The Suites
A truly boutique building, the St. Regis Condos contain only 23 luxury condos. While some have been customized over the years, they are luxurious to core. Engineered hardwood floors can be found throughout living spaces, along with marble-finished bathrooms, and gorgeous crown molding.
Since there are so few suites at 800 Spadina Road, Toronto condos for sale here can naturally be quite generously sized: the homes range from around 750 to over 2,200 square feet – all of which contain at least two bedrooms with the option of a den and as many as two full bathrooms. Regardless of each suite’s specific size, though, the expansive windows throughout fill every home with warm natural sunlight.
The Neighbourhood
Though many may not expect this of the prestigious Forest Hill South neighbourhood, those living at 800 Spadina Road enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere surrounding their homes. For one, residents are around the corner from the large Forest Hill Public Library on Eglinton West by Vesta Drive. This welcoming library features considerate accessibility services and vibrant book clubs open to everyone in the community.
Moreover, about ten minutes from the St. Regis Condos, there’s a diverse array of eateries along Eglinton West beginning at Bathurst. Conversely, east on Eglinton towards Avenue Road, there are some eclectic cafés, posh restaurants, and upscale boutiques for those with fancier tastes.
Lastly, as expected of a neighbourhood named Forest Hill, an abundance of green space surrounds the property. Nearby, north of the building along Chaplin Crescent, the massive Memorial Park’s grassy fields contain two baseball diamonds and even an outdoor running track. Furthermore, this park connects to the Kay Gardiner Beltline Trail, a recreational path carved through lush natural landscapes stretching from the Allen Road all the way to Mount Pleasant, with connections to additional trails leading into the Don Valley.
Transportation
Getting around the city is easy for those living at the St. Regis Condos. While the building sits at the north end of Spadina, this street leads south all the way to the Lakeshore. Even through downtown Toronto, where it becomes an Avenue, traffic on Spadina moves well courtesy of its wide, thoughtfully-partitioned streets.
For drivers whose destinations are usually further away, the aforementioned Allen Expressway is about five minutes away from 800 Spadina Road, which can be accessed by heading east along Eglinton. Once on the Allen, drivers can connect to the 401 in just a few minutes.
Finally, those who prefer public transit are also well-positioned when living at the St. Regis Condos. Their trips throughout the city often start by taking the 32 Bus, which stops on Eglinton at Spadina Road. This bus takes passengers to the nearby Eglinton West subway station in about ten minutes, and once there, riders can transfer onto subway trains moving along the Yonge-University-Spadina line.
