About 9 Spadina Avenue — Harbour View Estates I Condos
In the south end of Concord Adex’s CityPlace neighbourhood, the Harbour View Estates Condos at 10 Navy Wharf Court and 9 Spadina Avenue is one of the complex’s earliest developments. As a result, it has helped to establish the community’s cosmopolitan yet conscious reputation.
Completed in 2005, the Harbour View Estates Condos’ 40-storey tower at 10 Navy Wharf and the 8-storey loft building at 9 Spadina creates an environment of modern serenity — thanks to architecture spearheaded by HOK Canada.
HOK Canada’s care for both innovation and sustainability means the Harbour View Estates Condos are integrated fluidly with the space around them. Complementing the charm of the heritage brick buildings that give the Fashion District its timeless appeal, 9 Spadina is a modern take on such structures, which provides a seamless transition into the Harbour View Estates’ contemporary aesthetic.
The clear glass tower at 10 Navy Wharf, then, combines articulated floor plates with precise cut outs. As a result, the building curves to capitalize on the captivating cityscape surrounding it and gives residents such an enviable location.
This location grows even more attractive with the generous amenities offered in the Super Club, a shared facility for 9 Spadina and 10 Navy Wharf. Spread out over 30,000 square feet, in addition to a multimedia room and a screening theatre, the Super Club boasts extraordinary fitness facilities which features a running track, a full-size basketball court, tennis courts, squash courts, along with a sauna, steam room, and both a swimming pool and a whirlpool.
The Suites
For the many prospective buyers attracted to this property, a mix of loft-style and traditional luxury suites total 512 units, which range in size from around 500 to 2,200 square feet. Regardless of size, smart floor plans filled with top-of-the-line finishes make them the perfect home base for an active, engaged life in the city.
Considering the views available to the residents of 10 Navy Wharf and 9 Spadina, staying in will always be tempting, especially with floor-to-ceiling windows, and spacious balconies and terraces.
Nights in become even better thanks to the excellent kitchens found in each unit. Although all of the suites’ stainless steel appliances are modern, and the gas ranges prove truly exceptional — here, home-cooks can indulge their wildest culinary imaginations.
The Neighbourhood
Not only is CityPlace a great neighbourhood for those seeking Toronto condos for rent, it's also incredibly convenient. Residents of this building can easily run errands at the Sobeys around the corner at Spadina and Fort York Boulevard. Though during the summer a short walk to Harbourfront Centre is definitely worth it, since this spot showcases many different farmer’s markets and hosts the annual Hot & Spicy Food Festival.
Even though residents can cook delicious dinners at home, it’d be unfair to compare those meals to the neighbourhood’s fare. Like the residents of the Harbour View Estates, many of Toronto’s legendary dining experiences call the Lakeshore home. This includes the venerable Harbour Sixty Steakhouse and Pearl Harbourfront Chinese Cuisine.
Alternatively, the Fashion District is around a ten-minute walk. The food scene in King West is exciting — just ask chef Susur Lee, he’s opened many in celebrated restaurants in the area.
For a fun night out with friends, residents can head to King for a visit to one (or maybe two or three) of its many trendy bars and night clubs. Although for a most sophisticated evening, the National Ballet of Canada is about five minutes away on Queens Quay.
Transportation
Getting around the city from this location is easy. For drivers, the traffic in the area moves well, and they need only a couple minutes to get onto the Gardiner Expressway via Spadina.
Public transit options are also very accessible. The 510 streetcar stops close to the Harbour View Estates Condos, where Bremner Boulevard and Fort York meet Spadina. The 510 Streetcar serves downtown Toronto splendidly on its route between Spadina station in the Annex and Union Station, where riders can transfer onto the subway, or access GO Transit, VIA Rail, or the UP Express.
