About 900 Mount Pleasant Road — 900 Mount Pleasant Condos
Anyone typically drawn to a friendly residential neighbourhood atmosphere should consider midtown Toronto. Moreover, with homes like the 900 Mount Pleasant Condos, prospective buyers will be pleased by both the homes and the surrounding Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Developed by the Plaza Corporation, these luxury condos are located, as expected, at 900 Mount Pleasant Road, and a few blocks north of Eglinton Avenue East.
Completed in 2008, the 900 Mount Pleasant Condos feature timeless architecture by Quadrangle Architects. An Edwardian aesthetic clearly influenced the design of the condos’ street front façade, a style that’s common throughout the city’s well-established residential areas. This aesthetic is best seen along Mount Pleasant, where 900 Mount Pleasant’s collection of red brick townhomes feature charming masonry that frames long symmetrical series of sizable windows.
Beyond these townhomes, the building’s design features a series of step-backs along the first four storeys of the building. This design considerately keeps the block-long structure from casting an imposing an impression on the neighbourhood, while also carving out space to adorn the townhomes with private terraces.
Behind the townhomes, a modern 17-storey tower can be found. This edifice features a brick exterior, rather than stone masonry, plus the tower is clad in glass and outfitted with long transparent balconies as well.
Regardless of whether one lives in the townhomes or towers, all residents have access to a spectacular set of amenities. There are rooms appointed for meetings, parties, and games, plus the building even boasts a library and a multimedia centre. Additionally, there’s a spacious expansive fitness facility that’s fully-equipped for any workout. The atmosphere throughout these areas is modern and elegant, brought forth by a gorgeous garden area (with space to barbecue), and a grand lobby staffed by a 24-hour concierge.
The Suites
Home to diverse types of homeowners, the 239 Toronto condos range from around 550 to approximately 2,100 square feet. These include studios, multilevel penthouses, and those aforementioned townhouses which span three storeys each. While the townhomes boast their own terraces, most of the suites in the tower offer residents access to private balconies and the captivating views of the city that come along with them.
Regardless of whichever suite best serves a particular resident, all Toronto condos for sale in the building have comfortable open concept floor plans, elegant fixtures and finishes, and top-of-the-line stainless steel kitchen appliances. And finally, hardwood flooring graces all the suites, while cabinetry at 900 Mount Pleasant has been designed by Paris Kitchens.
The Neighbourhood
Formerly North Toronto, a town of its own in the nineteenth century, Midtown Toronto’s atmosphere is still resoundingly friendly thanks to its array of eclectic local shops and restaurants, especially along Mount Pleasant, just south of the condos.
Alternatively, there are many commercial shopping options a block west along Yonge Street. And it should come to no surprise that with shopping as vibrant as it is, there are many restaurants in the area as well, at a variety of price points and equipped to serve a diversity of palettes.
Transportation
Interestingly, North Toronto grew into a part of Toronto thanks to the development of the streetcar line along Yonge Street. Streetcars no longer head north through the area, though, as they’ve fortunately been replaced by the TTC’s much faster subway system.
The intersection of Yonge and Eglinton is where residents can find the closest subway stop, Eglinton Station. While this station, which travels along the Yonge-University-Spadina line, is just about a fifteen-minute walk away, those living at 900 Mount Pleasant can also hop onto the 74 Mount Pleasant Bus in order to reach it faster. The bus stops right in front of the building, and takes travelers to St. Clair Station, also on the Yonge-University-Spadina line but two stops south of Eglinton.
Last but not least, the location serves those who drive quite well. Drivers can access the highway easily: one needs only to head south on Bayview Avenue, the first major street east of Mount Pleasant, in order to reach the Don Valley Parkway. Alternatively, drivers can head north on Yonge, which leads directly to the 401.
