About 5 Buttermill Avenue — Transit City Condos
Transit City Condos is made up of 3 towers, standing 55 storeys tall, and situated at 5 Buttermill Ave in the Vaughan Metro Centre Area. The development is so large that it actually encompasses 4 addresses: 5 Buttermill Ave, 898 Portage Pkwy, 3210 Highway 7 & 100 New Park Place.
This master planned condo community was completed in 2020, adding 1700 much-needed units to the city of Vaughan. Concord developed the complex; the same developers behind the City Place neighbourhood. The location was selected to provide condo residents with easy access to the recently built Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Subway Station, found less than a 2 minute walk from the building.
5 Buttermill Ave contains an extensive 24,000 square foot amenity centre — as one would expect from Concord. Residents have every anticipated condo convenience available to them including a full fitness centre, a rooftop pool and deck, an indoor track, saunas, yoga studio, basketball and squash courts, a party room, a business centre, and underground parking.
Concord has proven that they know how to create a master-planned community and their footprint is obvious here; the complex has a 9 acre park on-site and a true community feel. Price per square foot and condo fees are above the neighbourhood average, but compared to prices in Toronto, they are considerably discounted.
The Suites
With 1700 condos in the complex, it goes without saying that there's plenty of selection for prospective buyers. Suite sizes range from 501 to 1,899 square feet and all units come equipped with high end finishes and appliances.
Units can have a number of different types of flooring dependent on the original occupant’s selection; some feature hardwoods and others have high end laminate or wood-vinyl flooring. Prospective buyers can expect to encounter efficiently designed kitchens with integrated appliances, and stone countertops. As well, units come with stackable laundry.
Bathrooms are well-appointed — and residents will love their rain shower heads after a long day at work. Large floor to ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light, giving units a warm vibe.
The Neighbourhood
Vaughan is a fantastic place to raise a family, and it’s an area where kids can still go out and explore in nature. Boyd Conservation Park provides kilometres of walking trails with beautiful natural scenery. Green spaces are evenly spaced throughout residential areas, and there are great schools and athletic facilities. 5 Buttermill Ave is a somewhat commercial area, but the 9 acres of green space on-site should be plenty.
Of course, we could hardly mention Vaughan without acknowledging Canada’s Wonderland — arguably the greatest park in the country as far as young kids are concerned. The community also offers a number of unique entertainment sources from Mini-putt, to paintball, and even axe throwing.
Transit City Condos is surrounded by convenient shopping, dining, and entertainment. Shopping is made easy with dozens of big box stores in the area and the colossal SmartCentres Woodbridge on the opposite side of the 400.
Whether you’re looking for a dine-in experience or something fast that you can takeout, there’s multiple options close to home; Via Panini Italian Sandwiches or Gordo's Diner for lunch, Botticelli Restaurant for Italian, and St. Louis Bar & Grill for dinner and drinks while you watch the big game. Coffee lovers have one of the best sources close by with Balzacs just around the corner.
Transportation
5 Buttermill Ave is close to numerous businesses where residents can pick up the essentials or grab groceries. However, the suburban nature of the area might deter residents from trying to get things done on foot as there are sprawling parking lots all around and many roads don’t have sidewalks.
Public Transit is a different story. The Transit Condos live up to their name by providing incredible access to public transit: Vaughan Metropolitan Bus Terminal is located right outside of the building. Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Subway Station is just a 5 minute walk south for trips into the downtown core, and the ride only takes about 50 minutes in total.
Car owners have it made. The nearest on-ramp to highway 400 is only 1 kilometre from the building, as well, there are nearby on-ramps for the 407 and Highway 7. Even with a little traffic, drivers can make it into the core in roughly 30 mins.
