About 130 Carlton StreetCarlton on the Park

Located at 135 Carlton Street, this traditional 12-storey condominium has been providing spacious homes in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood since 1985. There are definite benefits to buying Toronto condos for sale in an older building, and these spacious units are proof of that value, as even the smallest suites clock in at over 1200 square feet.

Carlton on the Park offers a wide array of amenities to relax and excite residents; indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, squash court, party room, rooftop terrace with barbeques, parking garage, and security guard. The building is pet friendly and has an off leash dog park directly across the street at Allan Gardens.

Condos in this building have great value and are on the low end for price per square foot compared to most downtown Toronto condos, making this building ideal for small families, or mature couples who are looking to downsize from a detached home but don’t want to feel cramped in a swanky new build.

    The Suites

They don’t build condos like this anymore — and that's a shame, because these luxurious suites feel more like houses than units, thanks to expansive layouts and ample square footage.

Carlton on the Park has units available for 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom + den, and 3 bedroom layouts — these units are extremely spacious, with suite sizes that range from 1257 to 2531 square feet.

Suites in this building have seen their share of personalization over the years, so finishes may vary, but expect crown mouldings, hardwood floors, updated kitchens and bathrooms, spacious bedrooms and living spaces, large windows and private balconies.

    The Neighbourhood

Cabbagetown affords residents a blend of urban and residential living; it is home to people of all age groups and backgrounds — making it one of the most diverse communities in Toronto. This neighbourhood has a lot to offer for shopping, dining, trendy cafes, and recreation. There are also some great options nearby for nightlife on Church Street and Yonge Street — as if this area was not appealing enough.

From the lobby at 130 Carlton Street, it is only a 15 minute walk to the Eaton Centre — home to hundreds of stores. There are also many boutiques extending along Yonge, so whether you’re looking for the latest gadget or something new to wear, you are bound to find it nearby.

Dining options are plentiful here — Kingyo, Peartree, Butter Chicken Factory, Stout Irish Pub, House on Parliament, Qi Sushi, are all excellent restaurants — Cabbagetown is home to many locations for residents to see and discover. There are also places to grab something fast like Subway, Harvey’s and Wendy’s.

You can’t have a trendy neighbourhood without trendy cafes — it’s a rule. Fortunately, residents of Carlton on the Park have multiple cozy spots to get their morning espresso; Black Bear Espresso on Carlton, FUEL+ on Church, TASSO and JetFuel Coffee Shop on Parliament, plus a Starbucks and a Tim Hortons nearby.

If the rooftop patio doesn't satisfy your nature needs, then the beautiful parks in Cabbagetown certainly will. Allan Gardens sits opposite 130 Carlton, Winchester Park and Winchester Square Park are just a few blocks east, and If you venture further you will find the Rosedale Ravine lands and its winding trails — connecting to several parks throughout the city.

For groceries, there is a Loblaws 2 blocks west for all the essentials.

    Transportation

Carlton on the Park has a Walk Score of 95 and Cabbagetown is a very walkable neighbourhood in general, so residents should be able to run errands by foot. Cyclists can navigate the area by using the lanes on Gerrard, or many bike friendly streets in the area.

TTC riders have it easy at Carlton on the Park — College Station is only minutes away for the Yonge-University subway line, there is streetcar service on Carlton, and several bus stops within a close proximity.

Drivers have quick access to the Gardiner Expressway via Lower Jarvis Street, and the Don Valley Parkway via Dundas Street East.
