About 58 Orchard View Boulevard — Neon Condos
Standing 20 storeys tall at 58 Orchard View Blvd, Neon Condos is a modern glass tower in the Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood. While neighbourhoods in downtown Toronto tend to garner the most attention from condo buyers, Yonge and Eglinton has seen a condo boom in recent years, and the area has everything you could want from an urban location.
58 Orchard View Blvd doesn’t overwhelm residents with a staggering list of amenities, instead it provides thoughtful and convenient extras — fitness centre, yoga studio, party room, media room, shared rooftop deck, concierge, and parking garage.
There’s one other massive amenity, and although it’s not technically offered by the building, the developers deserve some credit for location here — Yonge Eglinton Centre is literally next door, so shoppers have no need for a vehicle or public transit and the only limits will be how many bags they can carry.
The Suites
When it comes to condos, there are few things more disappointing than a well-appointed suite that’s dark in the daytime and struggles to collect natural light. Fortunately, all units in this building have floor to ceiling windows and are filled with sunlight.
Neon Condos is home to 218 units, available in studio, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom + den, 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom + den, and 3 bedroom condos; suite sizes range from 310 square feet to 1261. But no matter which unit you end up with, you enjoy the same high-end finishes found in units throughout the building.
Condos at 58 Orchard View Blvd have desirable features like hardwood floors, stylish kitchens with mosaic backsplashes, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. All units are open concept, and have large private balconies.
The price per square foot is somewhat high when compared against other buildings in the neighbourhood, and more in line with what you'd expect from downtown Toronto condos for sale, but there are some reasonably priced studios and 1 bedroom suites which could be within reach for first time home buyers.
The Neighbourhood
As a resident of 58 Orchard View Blvd in midtown Toronto, you not only have a great neighbourhood, but an excellent position in that neighbourhood as well. If ‘morning’ is a dirty word for you, you’ll find plenty of great cafes nearby to help you clear the cobwebs; you have the trifecta of well known chains like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and Second Cup within walking distance. Plus, lesser known cafes such as Istanbul Café & Espresso Bar and Aroma Espresso Bar.
For dining options close to home, it’s all just a matter to taste — residents have fast food chains close-by like McDonald’s, A&W, and Popeyes. There are excellent restaurants serving international cuisine such as La Carnita for Mexican, HoSu Bistro for Japanese, Grazie Ristorante for Italian, and Pho King Fabulous! For Vietnamese. And if you want your meal with a side of nostalgia, Mars Uptown Diner is a retro diner with great burgers.
It's not the Entertainment District, but Yonge and Eglinton has a nightlife that’s definitely worth checking out. On Yonge Street you’ll find Alleycatz for late night food and live Jazz — and cocktails of course — The Rose and Crown will give you that classic British pub feel, and there’s SIP Wine Bar & Authentic Neapolitan Pizza, which speaks for itself.
On Eglinton, you’ll encounter a whole other host of desirable hangouts like Granite Brewery for unique brews, Dampa for Karaoke, Prohibition Gastrohouse Midtown for even more craft beers, Good Fortune Bar for cocktails, and many more. Not to mention, comedy clubs like Absolute Comedy, and live music bars.
Transportation
58 Orchard View Blvd is the Connor McDavid of walkability — boasting a 97 Walk Score. As a resident of this building, you can easily accomplish all of your errands in a decent pair of walking shoes. In fact, even grocery runs are easy because there’s a Metro in Yonge Eglinton Centre.
For a dose of nature, you won’t need to travel far from Neon Condos — Eglinton Park is a sizeable green space that’s just 5 minutes away; well-kept, and featuring a splash pad, sports facilities, a community centre, tree-shrouded benches, and an abundance of open green grass, this park offers a peaceful retreat within the city.
Public transit users have convenience around every corner, beginning with bus stops 2 minutes away on Eglinton and Yonge Street. For trips downtown, Eglinton Station is less than a 5 minute walk from your front door for subway lines.
With so much positivity, there had to be a letdown somewhere, and car owners will be the ones who feel the weight of it. To reach the nearest highway, drivers can go west on Eglinton Ave W for Allen Rd and the 401 — but you’ll need some patience to get there.
